VITO Technology Introduces Threaded SMS App for Windows Mobile

When Palm, Inc. started bundling an application that grouped SMS messages into conversations with its Treos, many people using other brands of smartphones wanted the same feature. VITO Technology has thrown its hat in the ring with SMS-Chat for Windows Mobile.

This application has a finger-friendly interface, and groups messages by both contact name and date -- chats with the most recent message always appear at the top.

SMS-Chat is available for $14.95 at iwindowsmobile.com. It supports English, German, French, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, and Hebrew.

Archive SMS Messages with Sprite Archie

Sprite Mobile Inc. has launched Sprite Archie, an application that allows users or administrators to archive store information on SMS messages and the call history on Windows Mobile phones.

It monitors SMS and call activity and archives the data to email either immediately or on a daily or weekly schedule. This ensures that SMS messages are archived off the phone where they can be later retrieved or searched.

Spb Mobile Shell 2.0 To Be Unveiled Next Week

Spb Software House will unveil a new version of Spb Mobile Shell next week. Like the current version, this will serve as an alternate User Interface for Windows Mobile devices.

According to its developer, the new version will be "more animated, more customizable, and a more graphically complete" than its predecessor.

Spb Mobile Shell will be available by the end of this month.

Astraware's Tradewinds 2 Released for Windows Mobile Standard

Astraware and Sandlot Games have introduced a new version of their high seas trading adventure game Tradewinds 2 for Windows Mobile Standard devices, as well as an update to the existing Palm OS and Windows Mobile Professional versions.

Smartphones running Windows Mobile Standard don't include a touchscreen, and this game has be modified to allow the player to use the D-pad to handle the navigate map, port, and combat screens. Because many people with touchscreens prefer the D-pad, these changes have also been added to all the versions of this application.
