HTC Touch Coming to Verizon this Month?

Rumors have been circulating for some time that Verizon Wireless will soon begin offering the HTC Touch, and a new unconfirmed report gives a timeframe for when this will happen.

This iPhone-esque Windows Mobile smartphone is currently slated for release by Verizon late this month or early in March, according to Engadget.

It will supposedly be marketed as the XV6900, and sport a white casing instead of the dark grey offered by most others.

Other unconfirmed reports indicate Verizon's version will include an internal GPS receiver. Other specifications, however, including Windows Mobile 6 Profession, EV-DO, and a 2 megapixel camera, will remain the same.

It's unclear whether the Verizon version will be slightly thinner, like the Alltel Touch, or share the thicker dimensions of the Sprint unit.

It is not known at this time what this telecom will charge for it. 

More Touchable?

All the Touch models are designed around a special finger-friendly application launcher called TouchFLO, which allows the user to access most common functions through the touchscreen, without using the stylus.

However, Verizon's version will likely be the first to include TouchFLO 2, an updated version that is more customizable than the current on.

Since its launch, the Touch has sold more than two million units, making it one of HTC's most popular smartphones.
