Palm Centro, Samsung BlackJack II Available for Free with Two-Year Contract
Mobile phone retailer Wirefly is offering two of the latest smartphones for free for those who qualify.
Sprint's version of the Palm Centro normally sells for $100 with a two-year contract and mail-in rebate, but Wirefly is offering it for free under those same terms.
The Samsung BlackJack II also is normally sold by AT&T for $100 with two-year contract and mail-in rebate, while it costs even less than $0 from Wirefly; those buying it will actually make $50 in the form of a mail-in rebate from AT&T.
Acer Acquiring E-TEN
In move that will primarily affect the Asian and European mobile device markets, Acer is going to acquire E-TEN.
In the short term, Acer will continue to offer Windows Mobile smartphones under E-TEN's "Glowfiish" brand.
Acer has been on something of a buying spree lately, as it has picked up both Gateway and Packard Bell.
Google Calendar Sync Now Available
Google has launched Google Calendar Sync, a tool that lets users sync their Google Calendar with their Microsoft Outlook calendar.
In a somewhat roundabout way, it allows users to synchronize their handheld or smartphone with Google Calendar, assuming the mobile device is also being synchronized with Outlook.
