A new Seattle-based company called Velocity Mobile will be making its first foray into the smartphone space later this year, in the form of two high-end Windows Mobile Professional phones, called the Velocity 103 and 111.
The company, with support from Taiwan-based manufacturer Inventec Appliance, will be marketing its devices towards both business users and high-end consumers, emphasizing a customized user experience for ease of use, as well as high specifications. Both models feature:
The Velocity 103 distinguishes itself with a 2.8 inch VGA screen, while the Velocity 111 sacrifices both size and resolution, offering a thumb keyboard and a 2.4 inch QVGA display.
No pricing data is currently available. The Velocity 103 is listed as being available in the second quarter of 2008, while the 111 is scheduled for Q3. Both devices will be sold in an unlocked form suitable for use on any GSM network.
