Nokia Adds WHERE GPS Widget Platform

Nokia's recent news in widget and GPS development continues with the announcement of the Nokia WHERE application and widget platform. Featuring over 60 unique location-based applications, WHERE integrates with Nokia's N95, N95 8GB, and N82 and their internal GPS to provide information and content based on the user's location.

Some of the applications that can be found on WHERE include Gas Buddy, Buddy Beacon, Yelp, and StubHub.

GPS Tuner 5.4 Released

Windows Mobile users with internal and external GPS radios have a custom solution for off-road based activities with GPS Tuner. This is a suite of applications for hiking, boating, flying, and other sporting activities, in addition to driving.

Version 5.4 of GPS Tuner has been released with the following features:

• 'Open Street Map' has been added as online map source
• 'Google Topo (Terrain)' has been added as online map source
• Suunto X9i data format(.sdf) handling (Import and Export) has been added
• Automatic map rotation in 90 degrees has been added (instead of flipping 180 degrees)
• Built-in camera photo can be taken and added to waypoint directly
• Waypoints can be exported via TXT output module
