Lightspeed Overclocking App for Palm OS Updated

While Palm OS devices are usually pretty snappy in performing day to day operations, there is an occasional need to speed up things for multimedia, or slow down the entire system to conserve battery power. The application Lightspeed can handle this task for Palm OS devices and has been recently updated with performance and user interface optimizations.

Some of the updates in Lightspeed version 3.1 include:

• Performance optimizations in the code that changes the CPU speed. Changing the CPU speed now takes considerably less time
• User preference added which decides action taken at device wakeup.
• GUI updated for Zire 31, Z21, and Z22 devices.
• Minor device specific changes related to icon drawing in the list of applications.

TreoSpot Updated

TreoSpot is an application that allows Palm OS users to assign names to cell towers and then trigger system actions when those towers are encountered. For example, labeling a tower "Parents" in TreoSpot can be given the action of sending an SMS "Mom and Dad, I am near home."

In a recent update to this application, Palm Centro compatibility has been added, in addition to some rewriting of central code to better utilize Palm OS API calls for LBS functionality.

Machines at War Version 1.2 Released

An update to the real-time strategy game Machines at War brings several improvements to gameplay, performance, and usability. Some of these include:

• Added three new ground units
• Aircraft now use direct flight pathing and more realistic flight patterns.
• AI updated in group management, building, and uses new attack strategies.
• AI is harder on Robotic and easier on Newbie and Easy settings.
