After months of rumors and a semi-announcement last week, the device formerly known as the HTC Raphael has be formally unveiled as the HTC Touch Pro.
This device will have a great deal in common with the soon-to-be-released HTC Touch Diamond, but the Touch Pro will have more of a focus on business users.
Touch Pro vs. Touch Diamond
Both these Windows Mobile 6.1 devices will have a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen, 3G, and Wi-Fi, but the Touch Pro will add a sliding keyboard and larger battery.
Like its sister model, the Touch Pro will include TouchFLO 3D, HTC's new alternate user interface that makes Windows Mobile devices easier to use with a fingertip.
Each of these smartphones will have support for HSPA, including HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA. They will also include GPS and a 3.2 MPx camera.
Where the Touch Pro differs from the Diamond is the inclusion of a sliding QWERTY keyboard. This model will also have a higher-capacity battery -- 1350 mAh vs. 900 mAh.
And while the Diamond will have 4 GB of built-in storage, the Pro will have a microSD/SDHC card slot instead.
Not Coming Soon
The HTC Touch Pro will be released across all major European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets in late summer. The North American and Latin American versions of device will be available later in 2008.
There is no word yet on pricing.
