According to a leaked internal AT&T memo, Apple's smartphone will finally offer MMS (multi-media messaging services) when the iPhone 3G is released next month.
The service will act similarly to normal MMS service offerings, with users able to attach pictures, audio clips, and text to a message that can be sent to a recipient's mobile device.
The lack of MMS has been one of the most glaring omissions in the iPhone line, as it's a standard feature on most phones, even basic ones.
This information has not been confirmed by AT&T or Apple. In addition, the already stated iPhone pricing schemes do not take into consideration the sending and receiving of MMS messages, which is usually an add-on service for AT&T Wireless customers.
The second generation iPhone will be released by AT&T and carriers around the world on July 11.
