MWg America has just begun shipping the Zinc II, its latest Windows Mobile smartphone. It offers a sliding keyboard, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a new finger-friendly user interface.

This is a business-oriented model that includes Microsoft's suite of applications for working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint files on the go, and its full QWERTY keyboard makes writing emails easier.
The Zinc II is the first device to include the MWg Quick Menu which allows users to tap large graphic icons with their fingertips as well as flip between menus by dragging their finger across the screen, allowing them to navigate the device without a stylus.
Details on the MWg Zinc II
This device runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional on a 500 MHz processor. It has 64 MB of RAM 256 MB of Flash ROM, and a microSD slot for storage.
The Zinc II is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) phone with 3G (HSDPA) high-speed access. In addition, it includes Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 1.2.
It also has a SirfStar III GPS receiver and a 2 megapixel auto-focus camera with 4x digital zoom.
Pricing and Availability
The Zinc II is either available now at -- or will be coming soon to -- eXpansys, PC Mall, MobileCityOnline, WindowsMobileNow, J&R, and Datavision.
The suggested price is $750. This smartphone is being sold unlocked, which means there is no carrier subsidy.
