Sprint Drops HTC Touch and Samsung Ace to $100

Sprint has lowered the price on two of its Windows Mobile smartphones to just $100.

As its name suggests, the HTC Touch oriented on its touchscreen, while the Samsung Ace has a built-in keyboard.  Both models support this carrier's 3G network, but the Ace can also be used on GSM networks around the world. 

Each is now available for $100, as long as the customer signs a two-year contract and submits a mail-in rebate. They are available on Sprint's website.

An Overview of the Samsung Ace World Phone

The Samsung Ace is a smartphone that can be used in the United States and around the world.

In the U.S., the Ace connects to Sprint's CDMA network, and offers the 3G service EV-DO Rev. 0.  In other parts of the world, it can connect to GSM networks (900/1800 MHz). Data access will be slow, though, as it only offers GPRS, not even the 2.5G standard EDGE.

Because this device runs Windows Mobile 6 Standard it's QVGA display is not a touchscreen. However, this device has a physical keyboard for entering text.

An Overview of the HTC Touch

The HTC Touch is a Windows Mobile 6 smartphone designed around a fingertip-oriented control system created by HTC. It offers a sleek consumer-oriented design, but doesn't include a built-in keyboard.

Sprint's version of this device supports EV-DO Rev. 0, and also has Bluetooth.

In addition, the Touch sports a 2 MP camera and a microSDHC slot.
