Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 users can now download versions of Google Maps for Mobile with a new feature: turn-by-turn directions that make use of public transportation.
This follows on the heels of the release of versions of this mobile navigation application for BlackBerry and Java-based phones with the same feature.
To use this new option, users bring up Directions from the main menu and they'll see a second tab where they can request a route using only public transportation. Transit directions are available in more than 50 cities.
This application is now compatible with Symbian S60 (3rd edition or later) and Windows Mobile (2005 or later).
Google Maps Mobile 2.2 can be downloaded now directly on the user's smartphone from google.com/gmm.
