The first images of the Treo Pro appeared late last week, and now these have been followed by a number of pictures and details taken from a prototype.
The Pro greatly resembles the Treo 800w, and the new information confirms it will have much in common with that model.
Still, there will reportedly be a couple of significant differences. For example, the 800w is a CDMA-based device, while the Pro has been created for GSM carriers, and will have HSDPA, according to insider information posted on the Chinese website treo.net.cn.
In addition, the upcoming Treo will supposedly have a 400 MHz processor, while the 800w has a 333 MHz one.
A difference that might be significant to some is the Pro's 3.5 mm headset jack, which the 800w does not have.
It is also supposed to sport a higher-capacity battery: 1500 mAh vs. 1150 mAh.
Additional Details on the Palm Treo Pro
All the leaked information shows that the Treo Pro will be a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone with a design similar to previous Palm smartphones, a candybar shape with 320-by-320-pixel touchscreen above a QWERTY thumb-keyboard. Still, its black casing with silver trim gives the Pro a unique look.
The latest information coming out of China indicates that this device will have 128 MB of RAM and 256 MB of Flash ROM.
It will also reportedly include an external microSD card slot, GPS, and a 2.0 MPx camera.
Despite the new information, it's still not known when the Treo Pro will be released, or by which wireless carriers.
