Palm is turning to one of its rivals to produce its latest smartphone. HTC, which produces and sells mobile devices under its own brand, is going to be manufacturing the Treo Pro.
This isn't unusual move for either company. HTC got its start making Windows Mobile-based smartphones for the likes of Dell and HP. And Palm regularly uses ODMs like HTC.
The only thing slightly out of the ordinary with the Touch Pro is that Palm's devices are typically produced by Inventec.
Still, the company has been grazing in new pastures lately. It has reportedly turned to Compal to design and produce its Windows Mobile smartphones for 2009.
