RIM formally took the wraps off the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 at the CTIA tradeshow this week, and Brighthand's Kevin O'Brien was there to record some video of this not-yet-released clamshell device in action.
More About the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220
This model makes for the most significant form factor change for a RIM device since the SureType keyboard was added to the Pearl line.
On the outside of this BlackBerry's clamshell will be a small external screen and a 2.0 megapixel camera. On the inside will be a a 320-by-240-pixel (QVGA) internal screen and a SureType keyboard. A 900 mAh battery and the microSDHC memory card slot will sit behind the keyboard.
This quad-band GSM smartphone will include Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11b Wi-Fi with UMA support, and assisted-GPS.
The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 has not been announced for any specific carriers at this time.
