Sprint has just announced plans to introduce the HTC Touch Pro later this fall, and Brighthand's Kevin O'Brien was at the announcement to get a preview of this device.
The HTC Touch Pro adds a sliding 5-row QWERTY keyboard to all of the features of the HTC Touch Diamond.
It features a 2.8-inch VGA screen, and includes a 3.2 megapixel camera, the Opera Mobile web browser, MS Office Mobile, GPS and A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.
Sprint's Version
Sprint's version of this device will include EV-DO, the Sprint Music Store, and Sprint TV.
This carrier will release the HTC Touch Pro on Oct. 19 for $300 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.
Update: This model will actually debut on October 26.
Other Carriers
So far, Sprint is the only U.S. wireless phone company to commit to offering the Touch Pro, but that my change soon.
There have been unconfirmed reports that both AT&T and Verizon will introduce this model in the coming months.
