Motorola Q9c Receives Windows Mobile 6.1 Upgrade

Motorola has released an operating system upgrade for its Q9c, a smartphone offered by Verizon and Sprint.

This device was launched this spring with Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, so naturally it's being upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, the edition of this operating system for devices without touchscreens.

The new version adds a sliding panel interface for the Today Screen, improvements in handling wireless connections, and an update to Internet Explorer Mobile. For more information about these and other enhancements, read Brighthand's review of Windows Mobile 6.1.

More About the Motorola Q9c

The Q9c has a tablet shape with a small keyboard below a QVGA display.

It also includes 3G support, a GPS receiver, 1.3-megapixel camera, and microSD card slot.
