Syncing to more than iTunes is a need for many iPhone users, and the recent release of PocketMac for iPhone addresses this need. PocketMac is a sync tool that integrates Apple's smartphones with Entourage, Meeting Maker, and Lotus Notes personal information managers (PIMs) on OS X computers.
PocketMac also serves as a backup application for iPhone devices. After connecting to iTunes, the application will backup call logs and SMS messages to either the local Mac or the Mobile Me service. It also includes a Backup Viewer application which allows the reviewing and exporting of the backed-up information to a text file. Contact information viewed with Backup Viewer can be saved to the address book to be synced to the iPhone.
PocketMac for iPhone works on 10.5.x and with all versions of iPhone software. It retails for $29.95. For more information and to download, visit the PocketMac for iPhone website.
