Apple made changes to the iPhone App Store over the weekend to cut out some questionable practices.
Specifically, releasing an updated version of an application no longer moves that app to the top of the list of software titles. Some developers were reportedly releasing "updates" to their software almost daily to keep them listed prominently.
In addition, Apple now requires people to have at least downloaded an application before they can post a review of it.
More About the App Store
All third-party applications for the iPhone and iPod touch must be sold through Apple. The name for this is the App Store.
It is available through iTunes and well as on the mobile devices themselves.
