Voice Over IP (VoIP) is a popular calling alternative because of the low costs and numerous devices and services that can take advantage of it. Truphone is one of these popular services, and has released a bet VoIP client for Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry devices.
This has many of the same features found in the Symbian S60 (Nokia, Samsung) and Apple iPhone versions.
The application integrates with the built-in address book, and service can be automatically routed to cellular or VoIP data depending on which is the least inexpensive for the call. SMS over IP is also available for some regions.
