The T-Mobile G1 has the ability to be updated over the air, and several small updates for this Android-based phone have been released in the last few days, although the latest of these has not yet reached many users.
RC28 was released late last week, and fixes some small bugs. However, it was quickly pulled when T-Mobile realized it didn't fix a security flaw in the web browser. It was therefore replaced by RC29, which is being distributed now.
This update can not be downloaded by G1 users. It is being sent Over-The-Air (OTA) by T-Mobile directly to the smartphone, and users will be notified by their device when it has arrived.
To see which version of the Android software is running on a phone, go to:
Menu > Settings > About phone > Build number
and look for either "RC19" or "RC29".
