Apple has just announced that Mark Papermaster is its new head of the iPhone and iPod hardware engineering teams.
Papermaster, who comes to Apple from IBM, has 25 years of product and technology experience.
He will be senior vice president of Devices Hardware Engineering, reporting to Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
He is stepping into the shoes of Tony Fadell. He and his wife Danielle Lambert, Apple's vice president of Human Resources, are reducing their roles within the company as they devote more time to their family. Fadell will remain at Apple as an advisor to the CEO.
