Verizon Wireless has sent some of its customers a survey asking if they would be interested in a phone that can connect to a variety of clip-on accessories.

The add-ons mentioned in the survey include a keyboard module for writing emails and text messages and one with gaming controls.
A proposed music module would include a relatively large set of speakers and additional storage for holding files.
An Internet module would include Wi-Fi and a keyboard.
Don't Forget the Phone
In the survey, Verizon indicates the phone that these models would attach to would have a 3-inch touchscreen, 2.0 MPx camera with video support, and GPS receiver.
This carrier doesn't say which operating system this model would use though.
It does indicate that the device would have a "full" web browser, video player and MP3 player.
Is It the LG VX6900?
In September, the FCC approved the LG XV6900, which seems to fit the description in the survey. According to the documents filed with this government agency, this phone will offer a 3-inch screen with a resolution of 480 by 240 pixels, MP3 player, keyboard and game-pad.
The XV6900 will definitely include support for EV-DO and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and A2DP. However, it's not clear what operating system this device will use, other than a mention of a 3D graphical user interface.
As Verizon itself hasn't decided whether to offer this phone or not, there's no way to be sure when it might launch.
