The Xperia X1 -- the first Windows Mobile smartphone from Sony Ericsson -- will be officially released in the U.S. on "Black Friday," November 28.
Of course, this model is already available through grey-market retailers.
The official debut is not going to be from a mobile phone company. Instead, the Xperia X1 will be sold unlocked by Sony Electronics and its authorized retailers. Customers can begin placing pre-orders tomorrow on SonyStyle.com.
As there won't be a carrier subsidy, this device isn't going to be cheap; Sony Ericsson is going to ask $800 for it.
Grey-Market Options
Those who don't want to wait for the official release can buy the X1 now from a grey-market retailer.
There are a variety of these on the web, including Dynamism, who has this product in a black casing in stock now for $940. eXpansys expects to have this device in stock tomorrow. It is asking $950.
