T-Mobile is now offering the cameo, a digital picture frame with its own dedicated phone number. Users of this device are able to upload photos to it via MMS or email.
This allows friends and family to send images to the picture frame directly from their mobile phones. Naturally, the owner of the device can control who is allowed to submit pictures.
The device automatically rotates and resizes all photos, providing the option to stand vertically or horizontally, as well as hang on the wall.
Users of the cameo are also able to load pictures on it with its microSD card slot or USB port.
It has 7-inch, 720-by-480-pixel display surrounded by a leather frame.
"Because receiving and displaying pictures on the frame can happen in an instant, families with the frame will always be on the lookout for new snapshots coming in," said Wendy Piñero-DePencier, vice president, brand marketing, T-Mobile USA. "And for people sending pictures, the cameo lets you share impromptu moments in your day and keep important people close, no matter how near or far you are."
The T-Mobile cameo, manufactured by Parrot, costs $100 and requires a $10 monthly service charge. It can be found at many of this carrier's retail stores.
