One of the less popular features of the T-Mobile G1 is its ExtUSB port. This is a slightly modified mini-USB port that is used to plug in headsets, as this smartphone doesn't include a standard 3.5 mm port.
Apparently T-Mobile received enough customer complaints about the need to buy an adapter to use standard headsets that it's begun including an ExtUSB/3.5 mm adapter in the G1's box.
Those who have already received their G1 are on their own to get an adapter. These are available in the Brighthand Store at prices ranging from $6 for the simplest to a much more elaborate one for $27.95.
