TiVo Users Can Now Schedule Recordings with their Phones

A new website created for mobile devices gives TiVo subscribers the power to schedule recordings directly to their TiVo box.

This is the first time that this company has offered a mobile DVR programming service for free and available for any device with a mobile browser, including the iPhone and G1.

This new site also gives TiVo subscribers and non-subscribers alike the ability to browse and search for television shows. Site visitors can search for programs by actor, title, director, and keyword, with additional functions including Daily Recommendations and Most Popular.

The new mobile site is located at m.tivo.com. PC users can schedule recordings through TiVo.com.

Remotely scheduling recordings requires a Series2 or Series3 TiVo box.

The new mobile service compliments another offering from TiVo. The Desktop Software allows viewers to transfer their shows to an Apple iPod, Sony PSP, and other portable players.
