RIM and Verizon Wireless have released a much-anticipated update for the new BlackBerry Storm that is expected to fix many of the problems early adopters have experienced with this smartphone.
Although this new version of the Storm's system software -- Firmware 4.7.0.75 -- is officially available to install now, there doesn't seem to be an official description of it.
An early version of this update leaked out several days ago, and those who have tried it say that it significantly improves the performance of this model. The lags many have reported -- such as when switching the screen from portrait to landscape mode -- are greatly reduced.
How to Upgrade
Those who would like to upgrade their Storm 9530 have two options.
What about the BlackBerry Storm 9500?
Europeans using the BlackBerry Storm 9500 aren't being left out. Quite the contrary, as Vodafone and RIM have released Firmware 4.7.0.78 for the GSM version of this smartphone.
It can be downloaded from Vodafone's website.
