Wal-Mart will soon begin offering Apple's iPhone, if unconfirmed reports are correct. And there has been speculation that this smartphone will be just under the magic $100 price.
Bloomberg was able to get a couple of Wal-Mart employees to confirm that that company plans to start offering the iPhone before the end of this month.
This giant retailer is known for offering scaled down versions of products for low prices, and there has been some speculation that the iPhone model that Wal-Mart will be carrying a will have just 4 GB of storage, and will sell for $99 with service contract.

However, one of the Wal-Mart employees questioned said that this store will sell the same versions available from AT&T and Apple, and at the same prices: the 8 GB version for $200 and the 16 GB one for $300.

The iPhone 3G is Apple's second-generation smartphone, and the "3G" in its name refers to its support for 3G cellular-wireless networking.
This model has an HVGA touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
It has the ability to run native third-party applications that have been approved by Apple. In addition, it is able to connect to Microsoft Exchange for corporate email service.
