Sling Media has released updated versions of SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Mobile Professional and Standard. The primary improvement in the new release is support for additional screen resolutions.
For those who aren't familiar with this application, it allows owners of smartphones to watch everything they could on their home TV... but on their smartphone. With a Slingbox, users can have live TV programs streamed to their mobile device. They can also control a home digital video recorder (DVR), DVD player, video tape player, and more.
What's New?
The new screen resolutions supported by these versions of SlingPlayer Mobile are 800x480, 640x480, 400x240, and 320x320.
By adding these resolutions, this application now supports 15 more smartphone models:
Other devices which share these resolutions, such as the HTC Touch HD, should also work with the new release. SlingMedia only officially supports phones with 3G and/or Wi-Fi, but SlingPlayer Mobile may also run on EDGE-only devices.
The new WM Professional version is 1.6.0.111 and the new WM Standard version is 1.6.0.59.

SlingPlayer Mobile is available as a free 30-day trial, after which it costs $30.
