A CDMA version of Palm's Treo Pro -- a device expected to debut from Sprint in the near future -- has received its necessary approval from the FCC.
Sprint has not said it is going to introduce a version of this smartphone, there have been enough leaks that there can be little doubt. The Treo Pro will reportedly replace the Treo 800w, a similar but problem-wracked Windows Mobile smartphone Sprint launched over the summer.

More about the Palm Treo Pro
This smartphone has the design that's become a hallmark of the Treo line, a candybar shape with 320-by-320-pixel touchscreen above a QWERTY thumb-keyboard.
It runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional on a 400 MHz processor from Qualcomm, and comes with the standard suite of productivity applications.
A GSM version is already on the market, but Sprint's version is expected to be a CDMA phone with EV-DO Rev. A. In addition, it will likely have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Other Treo Pro features include an external microSD card slot for additional storage, a built-in GPS receiver, a 1500 mAh battery, and a 2.0 MPx camera.
According to unconfirmed reports, this new model will be widely available from Sprint on Jan. 25.
