Verizon's product road-map for 2009 has leaked out, and versions of the HTC Touch HD and BlackBerry Bold are supposedly on it, along with a number of other smartphones.
At the top of the list is a model very similar to the Touch HD, a high-end Windows Mobile model that debuted in Europe a few months ago. This device is perhaps best known for its 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen.
This carrier is also apparently playing catch-up again, and has a version of the HTC Touch Diamond in the works. This Windows Mobile model debuted from several other carriers last year, both in the U.S. and around the world. It is a smaller device than the Touch HD, with a VGA touchscreen
The product listing that was leaked to Engadget also includes a CDMA version of the BlackBerry Bold. Reports of this model have surfaced before, under the code-name Niagara. Like the Bold, this will have an HVGA display and a hardware keyboard
Also on the road-map is the LG VX9600, AKA the Versa. This phone will supposedly offer a variety of clip-on accessories, including a keyboard and a game-pad (see image at left).
In addition, Verizon is planning to introduce at least one netbook -- possibly from HP -- with EV-DO service built in.
If this information is correct and comprehensive, this carrier will introduce a fairly wide selection of smartphone this year, but there was no mention of any products running Google's Android.
It's not known when any other these models will debut, aside from their being scheduled for 2009.
