After several months as a public beta, the full version of Skype 2.5 for Windows Mobile is now available. Skype promises that this latest edition offers a noticeable improvement in sound quality when making voice calls over Wi-Fi.
It also includes bug fixes, and the developers have smoothed and refined the user experience on new devices.
Skype 2.5 for Windows Mobile works on all Professional and Standard phones. It can be download it directly on to the smartphone or cross-loaded from a PC.

Looking ahead to Skype 3.0
Skype isn't yet ready to release the beta of the next version of this VoIP software, but it has given a preview of it.
It will include two new features: SMS and file transfer. With the Skype 3.0 Beta, Windows Mobile users will be able to send text messages from their phone (a paid service), and send and receive files with their Skype contacts around the world.
Skype 3.0 Beta will be released in March.
