According to several sources, the HTC Maple will be released at the CTIA tradeshow next month. This device will be the replacement for the T-Mobile Dash.
Like its predecessor, it will will have a tablet shape with a thumb-keyboard below its display (see image at left). A noticeable difference from the current model will be a trackball in place of the D-pad,
It will supposedly run Windows Mobile Standard, the edition of this operating system for devices without touchscreens. Reports indicate it will include HTC's alternate user interface, TouchFLO 3D.
Several sources indicate that T-Mobile USA will introduce this model at the CTIA tradeshow, which kicks off April 1.
There is no word yet on pricing, but this is expected to be a relatively inexpensive smartphone.
Not Just T-Mobile
A roadmap of upcoming Sprint models that leaked out this week shows that this carrier will be getting a model from the same series.
The HTC Cedar will supposedly be released be released by Sprint during the second quarter of this year.
