AT&T is taking one of its featurephones, the Samsung Propel, and making it into a full-blown smartphone by adding Windows Mobile.
The Samsung Propel Pro will have the same general design as its little brother, a tablet shape with a sliding keyboard. It will also have 3G support. In addition, the upcoming device will add Wi-Fi.
Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard -- the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for phones -- will bring a a wide array of business and consumer features. Exchange ActiveSync will allow users to synchronize this device with a corporate email server, and this device will also offer other types of email, as well as a web browser, music and video player, and much more.
Despite today's announcement, few details are available on this model, as a full description has not yet been released.
Availability and Pricing
AT&T says the Samsung Propel Pro will be available some time in April, though it didn't specify a release date.
This smartphone will sell for $150 with contract and mail-in rebate.
