TealOS is a third-party application that tries to bring the card-based interface of the hotly-anticipated Palm Pre to other smartphones. Not surprisingly, Palm, Inc. has taken a very dim view of this software.
This TealPoint app gives legacy Palm OS models a user interface that's somewhat similar to the webOS, the operating system for Palm's future consumer-oriented phones. As Palm is counting on this UI to set its upcoming models apart from its competitors, it's no surprise that it doesn't want other companies making a profit from it.
Accordingly, this message has appeared on the TealOS page:
At Palm's request, we will stop selling TealOS on Monday March 30 at 5:00 PDT. Copies purchased prior to this, however will continue to function.
For those who would like to get a last chance at this app, it can be purchased for $14.95 from TealPoint's website.
