T-Mobile May Introduce HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Snap in July

Although T-Mobile USA hasn't yet committed to releasing the HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Snap, numerous unofficial sources indicate these Windows phones are headed for this carrier. And the latest of these also gives the possible release dates.

The Snap will reportedly debut on T-Mobile's network on July 1, and will take the place of the T-Mobile Dash.

The Touch Pro2 will come out a few weeks later, on July 22. It will be replacement for the T-Mobile Wing, and will supposedly be called the Wing II.

There is no word yet on pricing for either device.

An Overview of the HTC Touch Pro2
The Touch Pro2 will be a "slider," a smartphone with a landscape-oriented sliding QWERTY keyboard. It will also have a 3.6 inch, WVGA (800 by 480 pixel) touchscreen.

It will mark the return of the slide-and-tilt screen that was a hallmark of an earlier smartphone from HTC, the AT&T Tilt.

The Touch Pro2 will debut with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1, but make the jump to Windows Mobile 6.5 when this new version is available.

It will be built around a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm, 288 MB of RAM, and a microSD card slot. It will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, a GPS receiver, and a 1500 mAh battery.

An Overview of the HTC Snap
This slim Windows phone will have a strong focus on messaging. It will be less than a half-inch thick (12 mm), yet include a full keyboard with domed keys, 2.4-inch QVGA display, and a trackball.

This model will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard on a 528 MHz processor, and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as GPS, 2.0 megapixel camera, and microSD card slot.

Both of these smartphones are almost certainly going to support T-Mobile's 3G service.
