Palm, Inc. is now offering the unlocked version of the Palm Centro in two new colors and at a much lower price.
This smartphone has been in Palm's product lineup since 2009, and there's no doubt its nearing the end of its run. Still, an unlocked phone for $200 is a rare bargain, especially considering how popular this model has been.
To sweeten the deal, the unlocked version is now available in two additional colors. Previously this version came only in white, but red and blue have just been added as options.

An Overview of the Palm Centro
Despite its small and light design, the Centro includes a full QWERTY keyboard and a 320 by 320 pixel touchscreen. It is 4.2 inches tall, 2.1 inches wide, and 0.73 inches thick, and weighs 4.2 ounces.
This Palm OS model is targeted at consumers and first-time smartphone users, hence its small size and low price.
The unlocked version can be used with any GSM carrier -- AT&T or T-Mobile, for example -- simply by inserting a SIM card. It doesn't offer mobile broadband, but it does include Bluetooth.
In addition, the Centro has a microSD card slot and a 1.3 MP camera.
This is the last product running the Palm OS. This company's next consumer-oriented smartphone will be the Palm Pre, which uses the new webOS.
