An Early Glimpse of the Verizon XV6175

Details are starting to firm up on the Verizon XV6175, a messaging-oriented Windows phone supposedly scheduled for release this summer. This has not yet been officially announced, but that hasn't stopped information from leaking out on it.

This device will supposedly be a version of the HTC Snap that has been modified to meet Verizon's needs.

Like its sister models, it will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard on a 528 MHz processor and include 128 MB of RAM.

The XV6175 is expected to have a 2.4-inch, 320-by-240-pixel display and a QWERTY keyboard on its front. This form-factor will contribute to its focus on allowing users to easily exchange emails and text messages.

It will certainly include wireless broadband, but Wi-Fi is less certain. Other features will include Bluetooth, GPS, a microSD card slot, and a 2.0 MPx camera.

Coming this Summer
According to earlier reports,  Verizon will introduce this device in June. There is no word yet on pricing, but HTC created this design to be a low-cost option for carriers.

Other versions of this model are supposedly on their way to a variety of wireless carriers, including T-Mobile USA.
