The Nokia N97 is a long-awaited mobile from the Finnish mobile device maker, and now those in the U.S. can pre-order this high-end Symbian phone..
It is being sold in this country directly to consumers, and therefore without a carrier subsidy. That's why the pricetag is $700.
The N97 can be pre-ordered now on Nokia's website. The company says shipments won't begin until July though.
European Release
Those in Italy, Germany, and Sweden can sign up to be notified by email when the N97 will be available for pre-ordering by joining the Nokia N97 Pre-Order Members Club.
This device has not yet been announced for any carriers, though Vodafone has shown the N97 on its website for a July release.

The Nokia N97 is going to be the second touchscreen-enabled Symbian S60 device from Nokia. It will feature a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 32 GB of internal memory, a 5 megapixel camera, and a microSDHC memory card slot.
Wireless options will include quad-band GSM, HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS w/A-GPS.
Other features of this device are going to include an electronic compass, TV-Out, a widget-based homescreen, and support for Nokia's upcoming Ovi Store.
