A Full Set of Specs for the Next iPhone Leak Out

Apple is widely expected to release a new iPhone in June, but so far this company has kept a fairly tight lid on details. Now however, that lid has apparently been blown off, as a full set of specifications of this upcoming smartphone has appeared on the Web.

The source of this information, a post on a Chinese-language site WeiPhone, says the next iPhone will be based on a 600 MHz processor, have 256 MB of RAM, and a 3.2 MPx camera. There will be two versions: one with 32 GB of internal storage and a less expensive one with 16 GB.

For comparison, the current iPhone 3G has a 400 MHz processor, includes 128 MB of RAM, and has a 2 MPx camera. There are 16 GB and 8 GB versions.

Aside from these changes, Apple's next smartphone will allegedly be quite similar to the current model, including the same 3.5-inch, HVGA touchscreen.

More Details on the Upcoming iPhone
Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is happening in early June, and many are expecting a new iPhone to be unveiled at this event.

Many of the enhancements in this device will come from its new system software, and will also be available to the current versions. This includes support for cut, copy, and paste, MMS. Stereo Bluetooth, as well as peer-to-peer gaming.

In addition, the next-generation iPhone will almost certainly support the 7.2 Mbps 3G network that AT&T is currently putting into place, doubling its download speed when connected to a cellular-wireless network.

Its built-in camera will reportedly allow users to record and edit videos, and then share these with friends and family.
