Pharos Traveler 137 Released with AT&T and T-Mobile 3G Support

The Pharos Traveler 137 has just been released.  This Windows Mobile smartphone has a WVGA touchscreen, 3G, and a focus on navigation.

This is the first device to offer support for wireless broadband on both AT&T and T-Mobile's networks.

It also comes with Pharos'  hybrid navigation software, allowing it to provide voice-prompted navigation even without a connection to a carrier’s network. 

More than Just GPS
The Traveler 137 has a tablet shape that's dominated by its 3.5-inch 800-by-480-pixel touchscreen.

It runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, and therefore comes bundled with a suite of productivity and entertainment applications for handling such tasks as email and web browsing.

This is a quad-band GSM phone with tri-band HSPA 3G (HSDPA 7.2 Mb/s, HSUPA 2 Mb/s). In the U.S., it will offer the 3G frequencies used by carriers like AT&T and Rogers, and also the special frequency used to T-Mobile.

Other wireless capabilities include Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and an FM tuner.

The Traveler 137 also sports dual cameras -- 3 MPx primary and 0.3 for video conferencing -- and a microSD card slot.

Pricing and Availability
This device is being sold unlocked directly to consumers, who will be able to use it with any GSM carrier.

The Traveler 137 is available today from Amazon.com, Dell.com, eXpansys, and Newegg for the suggested retail price of $600.  Users can get a $250 discount by signing up for a new T-Mobile two-year contract through Pharos.
