Although Apple has formally announced the iPhone 3G S, it has yet to reveal some significant details on it. That hasn't stopped these from leaking out, though.
According to T-Mobile Netherlands, which will be offering this device in the near future, Apple's next smartphone will have a 600 MHz processor. For comparison, the current iPhone 3G is based on a 412 MHz chip.
This same source says the iPhone 3G S will have 256 MB of RAM, which is twice as much as its predecessor.
Still unknown is this device's battery capacity, though Apple claims it will last for up to 9 hours on a single charge.
It's not clear why these specifications have been kept quiet.
More about the iPhone 3G S
Apple's next smartphone will be an evolutionary rather than a revolutionary model. Its feature set will be improved, but not dramatically so.
It will have twice the Storage capacity, support for recording and editing video, and a handful of other features, like MMS support. Still, iPhone 3G S will have much in common with the current version. The outward appearance isn't significantly different, and the screen resolution will remain the same.
The release of the third-generation iPhone will happen on June 19. There will be two versions: a 16 GB one will sell for $200, while a 32 GB model will go for $300. They will be available in back and white casings.
