Mark/Space has released a beta version of The Missing Sync for the Palm Pre and Mac OS X. This allow users to synchronize this new smartphone with their desktop.
The Pre's webOS has been designed to synchronize its data with online sources, but many prefer to sync locally. Mark/Space's new app lets users synchronize contacts, calendars, music, ringtones, photos, and more between a Mac and devices running this OS.
No Wires Necessary
Mark/Space Proximity Sync technology can sync a Mac with a Pre via Wi-Fi. The synchronization process happens automatically and wirelessly whenever the Pre is near the Mac, so Address Book, Entourage, and iCal can easily stay in sync with the Pre.
The Missing Sync works with iTunes and iPhoto to transfer and sync favorite photo albums and playlists of music and podcasts -- both audio and video. Plus, this app converts and transfers digital video optimized for Pre.
This softweare can synchronize folders -- with like Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents -- from the Mac to the Pre. And Safari bookmarks become Pre bookmarks too.
Pricing and Availability
Version 1.0 Beta of The Missing Sync for Palm Pre for Mac is available as an electronic download from the Mark/Space website.
The limited-time beta is free, but the full version will cost $39.95. Owners of any Mark/Space product can crossgrade for $29.95 when it becomes available.
A Windows Vista and Windows XP version of The Missing Sync for Palm Pre is coming soon.
