LG Unveils New Flagship Windows Mobile Smartphone

LG has taken the wraps off its latest Windows phone, the LG-GM730. It has also announced the LG-GW550, a smartphone with a built-in keyboard.

An Overview of the LG-GM730
The LG-GM730 will combine Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with LG's own S-Class User Interface. Microsoft's mobile OS offers powerful features, but its UI isn't very consumer friendly. The S-Class UI will replace the standard one with something LG has created to give easier access to this smartphone's e-mail and organization tools.

It will have a slim (11.9 mm) tablet shape, with a 3-inch WQVGA (240 x 320) touchscreen.

The wireless capabilities of this GSM phone are going to include 3G (HSDPA), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, as well as A-GPS.

It will also sport a 528 MHz MSM7201A processor from Qualcomm, a 5 megapixel camera, and a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery.

It creator says the LG-GM730 is the first of several smartphones that LG will release in Asia this year. There's no word yet on when it will be available in other parts of the world.

Also making its first appearance is the LG-GW550, an upcoming smartphone equipped with a QWERTY keypad and other business-centric features.

This Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard device will have a 2.4-inch QVGA display above its front-facing keyboard.

It will be a quad-band GSM phone with tri-band (850/1900/2100 MHz) mobile broadband: 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA.

Other features are going to include a 3 MPx camera, front-facing VGA camera, and a 1,300 mAh battery.
