Verizon XV6175 Expected To Debut Next Week

Verizon's version of the HTC Snap will reportedly be released by the end of this month. The Verizon XV6175 will be a messaging-oriented Windows phone with a surprisingly low price.

This model has not yet been announced, but details have been slipping out about since this spring. According to the latest unconfirmed reports, it will be released online on June 23, and appear in Verizon stores on July 13.

The XV6175 will supposedly sell for just under $100 with contract and a mail-in rebate. That's $50 less than Sprint is asking for its version of this smartphone.

An Overview of the Verizon XV6175
This upcoming model will have a tablet shape, with  a 2.4-inch, 320-by-240-pixel display and a QWERTY keyboard on its front. This form-factor will contribute to its focus on allowing users to easily exchange emails and text messages.

It will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard on a 528 MHz processor and include 128 MB of RAM. An upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 will be released after Microsoft finishes work on this new version of its smartphone operating system.

Naturally, the XV6175 will support Verizon's CDMA network, but it will also reportedly have quad-band GSM to allow it to be used around the world. This device will certainly include wireless broadband, but Wi-Fi is less certain.

Other features will include Bluetooth, GPS, a microSD card slot, a 2.0 MPx camera, and a 1500 mAh battery.
