Apple has just released a beta of iPhone OS 3.1 to developers. At this point, it's not clear how this version is different from its predecessor.
UPDATE: Details of what is included in this new version have started to emerge. This new beta tweaks the way video editing works, allowing users to save a copy of a video being edited, for example. In addition, support for using Voice Control over a Bluetooth headset has been added.
iPhone OS 3.0 is the version of this company's operating system that recently debuted on the iPhone 3G S, but was also released as an upgrade to this company's previous smartphones and handhelds.
When iPhone OS 3.1 will be available to the general public is not yet known. Apple recommends this be installed only on devices dedicated to testing it.
A new beta SDK to support this new OS version has also been released.
