Details Start To Emerge on the Android-Powered LG GW620

LG has promised to release three phones running Google's Android OS, but so far hasn't revealed anything about these. Nevertheless, some of the details for one of them has leaked out.

According to an obscure file on LG's own website, the GW620 will have an HVGA (320 by 480 pixel) display and a QWERTY keyboard. It will apparently be a GSM phone with HSDPA, and also include Wi-Fi. This page makes it clear this is an Android model.

No other details are available at this time. Still, LG's choice of operating system tells something about this device: it will be a consumer-oriented smartphone with strong ties to Google's online services for email, calendar, navigation, and more, as well as a high-quality web browser and video and audio players.

The GW620 may be the Android device LG promised to release during the third quarter of this year, with this company's other two models based on this platform scheduled for Q4.
