Over the next several days, Verizon Wireless will be pushing the Slacker Radio application to the BlackBerry Storm. This will give users of this smartphone access to a free version of one of the most popular streaming radio services.
This application offers a music catalog that is about 4x larger than that of the leading competitor, and lets users choose from more than 100 expert-programmed Slacker stations, over 10,000 artist stations, or a nearly unlimited number of the listener's own custom-created stations.
This version of Slacker Radio will also connect to V CAST Music. When a song is being played is one of the more than 4.5 million available in the V CAST Music with Rhapsody catalog, an icon will appear on the screen that will let customers easily purchase that track while it continues playing on the smartphone.
This streaming radio service is included with Email and Web for BlackBerry plans, which begin at $29.99 when added to any Nationwide voice plan.
