The latest version of Google Maps adds a new features: layers. These allow users to view several types of information on a map at the same time.
Layers can include public transit, traffic (with incidents), local search results, Latitude friend locations, Wikipedia, and more. Users can also overlay their own My Maps content.
In addition, Google has changed the way searching maps works. Under Search, users will find a link to browse popular categories, and the app will now return far more results.
