Video Preview of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Leaks Out

Sony Ericsson hasn't announced the Xperia X2 yet, but the debut has to be getting close, judging the number of rumors and leaks about this Windows phone.

The latest of these is a 5+ minute video showing the user interface that Sony Ericsson has created for it. Unfortunately, as often happens with leaks, the quality of the video isn't good: it's shaky, the dust cover is still on the screen, there's no sound, and the device turns itself off every few seconds.

This video confirms much of what was already known about the Xperia X2: it will run Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, and use the Xperia panels that were the hallmark of the original. 

An Overview of the Xperia X2
The Xperia X2 will supposedly have larger touchscreen than the current model -- 3.5 inches vs. 3.0 inches -- and this will be an OLED rather than the more common LCD display.

Like its predecessor, this device will be a slider, with the screen moving aside to reveal a landscape-oriented keyboard.

As mentioned earlier, the X2 will reportedly launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, and an upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 will be released when its available in 2010.

It's not known exactly what Qualcomm processor this smartphone will use, but it's supposed to be faster than the one on the Xperia X1. In addition, Sony Ericsson has reportedly tuned the software for maximum performance. 

In the memory department, this model will have 512 MB of RAM and a removable memory card slot. 

Other features will allegedly include an 8.1 MPx camera capable of taking VGA video at 30 fps, a GPS receiver, 3.5 mm headset jack, and an accelerometer.

In addition, the Xperia X2 will almost certainly include some form of mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
